My few first experiences with horses was a very memory filled occasion. It was at Happy Trails Riding center. In this story I'm about to tell you is when I first started learning to trot.
And this is the story..
Yep, it smells like horses at Happy Trials Riding Center.I sprint to the big red barn. Me and my mom explain to the owner that we are here for lesson. Waiting for my riding teacher , I try to imagine what the horse looks like. I feel excited as I see my teacher come back with a mare horse named Chrissy. As I look for a riding helmet, excitement starts to build In my chest. I feel the horse's fluffy fur as I groom the beautiful bay-colored coat. Then suddenly I gazed up at the most honest brown eyes I ever saw on the most beautiful horse I ever saw!
I felt more confident than other riding lessons as me and my riding teacher walked to the riding ring. As I mounted my horse Chrissy my legs tingled a little, but settled as my teacher adjusted my stirrups. The warm up felt a little slow as I steered my horse around the ring. Me and my horse Chrissy went faster as we walked like two graceful show horses. The horse's strong back felt secure as I gazed to where we would go next. The smile on my face grew wider as I guided my horse to walk over some poles. Suddenly my teacher called me into the ring. I wonder what we will do as I steer Chrissy to the middle of the ring. Me and my horse stop excitingly in the middle of the ring. Looking down at my riding teacher I notice that she was attaching a lunge line to the horse's bridle. She informed me that we would trot. I was so blissful as I got ready to trot. I sat back in my saddle like she explained to me. We trotted for a while, until I lost my balance and pulled on the reins. As I pushed Chrissy into it again, I notice a person lining up buckets next to the fence. The buckets were filled with grain for the horses on the other side of the fence. As I stare at the buckets I notice that Chrissy is getting suspicious. Chrissy pulls on the reins with great strength. As I struggle to keep hold of the reins, my teacher sprints over. When we get Chrissy to go in a different direction. My teacher tells us to slow down and to walk for a little while. Walking near the eating horses, Chrissy tries to steal food from a bay-colored stallion! The next moment the stallion rears half way in the air! My horse jerks back as my teacher sprints over once again. I am sure she saw the relief on my face. Quietly after my lesson is over I dismount and head to the main barn. Walking to the barn my teacher tells me that I can feed Chrissy. Excitement fills inside me as I get the buckets filled with grain. As I walk down the hallway the heavy buckets pull my arms to the floor. As I try lift my arms up, I notice that I was coming close to Chrissy. We set the exhausting buckets on the floor. Me and my mom watch Chrissy pull on her rope as she eats. We all drink water and slowly walked to the car. I watch the horse school fade away behind us. As we drive away, I picture my wonderful horse lesson that I had that day.
